Joyful Journey Hotsprings and Spa (Success)

Tuesday, 19 March 2019 16:16

I must say that in my opinion Vishuddha Blue Sound System at Joyful Journey Hotsprings and Spa was a success. Everyone that participated got there healing and overstanding in the way that they asked.

I want to give thanks to Joyful Journey Hotsprings and Spa + staff for the A1 hospitality. Much love to Charmaine for helping me organize and making sure everything went smoothly and for making sure that we all were able to rest well.

I give thanks to all the artist that performed and shared their gems in the fullest no matter the circumstance or time of day.

Spellbinder - Thank you for so many things. Too many to count. But at least thank you for blessing the mic and holding the vibe.

House of Rastafari - I also want to say thank you for blessing the mic and giving your all. We all enjoyed your performance.

Intager - Big ups to you! You have a new fan. I enjoyed your selection from the first time we've met in San Antonio TX. May you remain blessed and I look forward to working with you in the near future.

Badbwoy BMC - What can be said? You dropped a two-hour set that was so good that no one noticed that you've been on for so long. We all dug your mixing, and I am elated that you came out to drop some tunes. I'm ready for round two — big love to you, your Queen, and likkle Kingston.

Shiba - Closed the night just right with Dubstep and Dub. Thank you! An awesome person and it shows through in his mixing and mingling. That won't be the last time brotha.

The Dubman Bee - In my Caribbean accent, "Mahn yah freak'n kill it stahr" Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for doing all my promo pictures, filming the event, going above and beyond just to see that the Vishuddha Blue Sound System gets on its feet. TDB gave an all vinyl set of Dub, Dubstep, and Dancehall.......WOW!

Ronnie QI - It feels like we've met many times before. I give thanks for the Tai Chi class you instructed us in. Your teaching style was very comfortable, and I look forward to being instructed from you again. I overstand your story, and I am proud of you for overcoming the cycle-trap that is put in place to keep many of us stuck and making them money. I bow. From experience I know it wasn't easy.

Siriana T - Give thanks for guiding us through a powerful meditation. We all felt it — much love for setting the tone for the evening of overstanding and healing.

Big ups to everyone that came from near and far, Boulder in was in the building, Colorado Springs, Aurora, Denver and many more.
All is love.

Event Schedule
Vishuddha Blue is a custom made Sound System operated by Yahru El Guru, which delivers up to 10,000 watts of sound. This system was designed to deliver clear sound when frequencies are played that open up the throat chakra.

Through vibration and movement, Vishuddha Blue Sound System aims to promote consciousness and awareness, in an atmosphere where we can gather, meditate, reason, heal, stretch, and dance. We feel we will achieve just that through Sound Healing, Meditation, The Art of Movement, Self Expression, and Closing Vibrations.

Sound Healing
Also known as Vibrational Medicine is a practice that employs vibrations from many different instruments and voices. Such as Singing bowls, Gongs, and chanting.
The opening session begins with Vishuddha Blue playing through its 10,000 watts of sound (depending on the location) many different frequencies, chants, and healing instruments that resonates and opens up The Throat Chakra. During this session, participants are encouraged to bring their instruments to chime in on the vibrational healing.

Meditation
Instructed by Siriana Tantrika
Siriana Tantrika started her journey in college where she studied Sociology and Anthropology. She began the process of self-exploration after a series of experiments with different traditions starting from Wicca, Agnosticism, Christianity, and Buddhism.

In 2006, Siriana found herself needing to heal after ending a tumultuous relationship. It was then she found Rastafari after meeting a reggae and Rastafari veteran Judah Eskender Tafari who poured lots of information about Ethiopia. The journey had only begun. She went on to research more about Rastafari and Ethiopia and found the similarities the previous holds with India and Hinduism. During this time she would find herself immersed in the Tantrik path and philosophy. It was then that the Tantrika was born.

Siriana has 13 years of experience in the Tantrik arts including touch, sound, meditation, sex and fertility counseling. She incorporates sound and color in the meditation practice using solfeggio tones for the healing of traumas and the alignment of our chakras.

Join Siriana T in a self-exploration journey to heal yourself from the core! Namaste!

The Meaning of The Emblem

Tuesday, 22 January 2019 17:40

The emblem of Vishuddha Blue Sound System is our creative remake of the 5th Chakra symbol known as the Throat Chakra and called Vishuddha in Sanskrit. Like the Throat Chakra symbol, we hope that the VBSS emblem will be a Yantra and a symbol of inspiration and awareness in the movement towards overstanding and awareness.

Vishuddha houses our ability to communicate and speak up for what we know in; The inverted triangle of the THROAT chakra symbol is symbolic of spiritual growth.

"At the fifth chakra, the inner and the outer meet. Remember, at the fourth, the lower and the higher meet. At the fifth, the inner and the outer meet." - Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh

We named our sound system Vishuddha Blue because Vishuddha controls the principle of sound that's related to hearing. It’s Sanskrit meaning also corresponds to purity, pure truth, pure speaking, and pure communication with it’s representing color being mostly Blue.

There are 10 colors in the VBSS emblem. Seven of those colors represents the seven Chakras. The grey represents neutrality and balance (The grey area), Black represents the beginning and end, and the light blue (Fresh Water Blue or Sky Blue) is another shade of Vishudda.

Red - Root Chakra
Orange - Sacral Chakra
Yellow - Solar Plexus Chakra
Green - Hearth Chakra
Blue - Throat Chakra
Indigo - Third Eye Chakra
Violet - Universal

The circles or round shapes that are surrounded by the lotus petals are inspired by audio speakers (drivers), the moon, purity, and cosmic sound. These elements should remind us of meditation; To blend ether (space) or Akasha to achieve more awareness, and to accomplish that purification or awareness, ones throat chakra must be opened and balanced.

The music notes and keys represent creativity, destruction, and silence (before, in-between, and after the notes or form.)

The downward pointing triangle is affiliated with the gathering of information from lower chakras to make this evolution possible, while the widening upward signifies enlightenment through purification. In this instance, the energy is the gathering of knowledge toward enlightenment. The Throat Chakra is the meeting place where knowledge and wisdom meet.

5 Emotions That Breed Terrorists

Sunday, 26 February 2017 18:40

While watching the news recently, I saw a program that was giving indications on how to look for people who may be recruited into terrorist organizations. It got me thinking about how, although they were focused specifically on groups operating out of the Middle East, there are characteristics in all people that can be exploited. Wouldn't it be better if we all looked within ourselves to understand those characteristics (emotions) and how they can start to dominate our real selves?

Who are these terrorists and what traits do they have in common? Who are the ones that get targeted for recruitment? And is it possible that we all have the propensity for terrorist blood in us, that only needs to be activated?

My musings boiled down to 5 emotions that potentially breed terrorism. Let's see if any hit close to home.

Anger
We have all felt anger in our lives at some point. We've been “Amygdala Hijacked” when we become angry. That's when a gush of hormones are released that causes an emotional alarm. It blocks off our logic in the cerebral cortex and moves to our limbic system which is located in the lower part of our brain. This is what causes our reaction of: “Hey, put up your dukes!" or "kick rocks."

What we should understand is that when one becomes angry, it is an emotion that can quickly go from zero to out-of-control in a split second. This emotion is like a toxin that clouds our head and heart, then shoots straight to our hands and jaw. This is why when we get angry; we are ready to punch, slap, scratch, push buttons, pull triggers and throw things like plates, knives, and grenades.

Now we all know that we have the ability to get angry. Any person, place, or thing can set anger in motion. Counting to 10 is not going to work; people react much quicker than that these days. However, counting to 1,200 may work because it takes about 20 minutes for logic to set back in. If we try to reason with someone that's angry before the 20 minutes is up, we're only setting ourselves up for failure. The person or group of individuals who are angry can have a “flair up,” which happens when hormones of anger are still active in the blood stream. More than a few people and groups in the world today need a 20-minute time out before negotiations can proceed. We can start by taking a 20-minute time out for ourselves, and explaining to others why we're doing so.

Fear
How many people in the world actually live in fear or belong to a fear driven organization? Well, according to data from the World Bank, there's a little over 7 billion people living on Earth. Out of that 7 billion, there's a little over 2 billion that represent Christianity, Islam, Judaism and other fear-driven systems.

That means 2 billion people are not going to budge if push comes to shove. People have a hard time when their way of life is questioned. Whether they're considered fanatics or not by society, the majority of this fear-based ideological group are willing to die for what they "believe." There is no room for trying to understand others nor themselves. The great mystic, Osho, once said,"…all so-called religions are based on fear. Their God is nothing but fear, and their heaven and hell are nothing but projections of fear and greed." Religions say to people, ‘Fear God!' From my experience, we're better off listening to Sufi Master Rumi: ‘Do not move because of fear.’

Fear is fertile ground for breeding terror. Merriam-Webster's dictionary sums up “terrorism” as - “the use of violent acts to frighten the people in an area as a way of trying to achieve a political goal.” What is a violent act? It could be as minimal as intentionally degrading another or oneself, whether it be physical, mental, or spiritual. We don't have to look too far when it comes to terror; you could be the terrorist. By operating out of fear, we're minimalizing our higher principles for a misguided ideology that doesn't consider the rejection of fear. We need to look within ourselves and tame the fear internally, lest it becomes something consistent with terrorism.

Jealousy
Whether as a child or an adult, we have all felt a splash of jealousy at some point. Even chimpanzees and elephants can feel jealousy. So what does jealousy have to do with terrorism? Well, when we've become attached to something, our usual inclination is to hang onto it by any means. Retired Professor of Psychology Ralph Hupka, of California State University, Long Beach states, “Jealousy is an anticipatory emotion. It seeks to prevent loss.” Many psychologists agree that jealousy shows its head when something that we already have is being threatened by someone else (i.e., job, lover, promotion, country, religion, etc.).

This is what Buddha was trying to get across. Don't be attached to the material, because attachment can bring about unwanted misery and suffering. Jealousy can rear its ugly head to protect the material we think we can't live without. It may put us in a situation where we regret our actions in the long run. Being conscious of where the jealousy comes from can help us abate it.

Envy
Contrary to popular belief, envy and jealousy are two different things. Envy can be a poisonous snake. It is the emotion of wanting something that somebody else has. Wanting something that does not belong to us (i.e., car, lover, job, house, money, oil, country, ancient artifacts, even people of a differing religion). To understand envy, we need to consider what belonging actually means. Because you have a job, does it actually belong to you? Does your boyfriend belong to you? The truth is that nothing belongs to us, not even our own bodies. It all must go when the time is up. If we can understand that everything is borrowed rather than owned, envying another becomes moot. We must recognize that we should be grateful for what is currently "ours." There is no need for us to want another to "believe" what we "believe," or agree with one religion.

According to Richard H. Smith in his book The Joy of Pain: Schadenfreude and the Dark Side of Human Nature, he states, “When we encounter someone who is more chosen, beloved or esteemed than we are, our natural instinct is to tear them down to our level. If this illicit desire is fulfilled by happenstance, schadenfreude (pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune) ensues”. This corroborates the notion that terror is not just happening on a global scale, but on a minor scale as well. If we are willing to cause harm on a small scale, then we might be leaving the doors open for bigger disasters caused by envy. No matter the scale of the “wants”, envy is envy. Unrecognized, envy can become a breeding ground for hate.

Hate

Most of us have heard the phrase “stop being a hater.” Indeed we need to understand that hating on one another can be linked to our thoughts; thinking too much about what the next person has or doesn't have. When we lose focus and stop being thankful for what we have, it opens us up to outside influences that can lead to a world of pain and destruction. It lowers our guards, leaving us vulnerable to be recruited by people, organizations, or terrorist cells knowingly or unknowingly

“All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts. In a justly ordered universe, where loss of balance would mean total destruction, individual responsibility must be absolute. A man’s weakness and strength, purity, and impurity are his own, and not another man’s. They are brought about by himself and not by another; and they can only be altered by himself, never by another. His conditions are also his own, and not another man’s. His suffering and his happiness are evolved within. As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think so, he remains.” - James Allen, from As a Man Thinketh

According to Neurobiologist Semir Zeki, from University College of London's Laboratory of Neurobiology, there's a distinct area of the brain that's activated when we begin to hate something. This is referred to as the Hate Circuit. When this Hate Circuit is activated, it can become out of control if not watched very carefully. The phrase "you better check yourself before you wreck yourself" comes to mind; because the person watching carefully is you. So know this, if someone hates someone, best believe their hate is 100% and does not need to be questioned. They've already let the Hate Circuit take control, and they may be beyond reason.

It's interesting how frequently hate is understood over love. Love is always questioned because we are not sure what love is and how to love. We're taught by society and media to understand hate, but not many take the time to understand love. To avoid having a terrorist mentality we need to put as much energy in love as we do hate.

The truth is that there are many terrorist organizations all over the world, and it is easy to point fingers and blame others. It is harder to look within ourselves. It is hardest of all to accept that what makes people terrorists... just might be within us too. The healing of the earth begins with us as individuals. If we can master ourselves, then our little rock floating in space will be an oasis for us all.

Exoteric Vs Esoteric

If you were to ask a grown-up what their impression is about the world, the response received would mostly be of a negative nature. Even the few people who have nothing to worry about, not a single complaint about the world, will give an optimistic response that is tempered with shades of grey — in the form of caution, secrecy and doubts about the good times lasting forever.

Meditation

Sunday, 14 December 2008 03:49

There are many forms of meditation, but for this session (30 minutes to an hour) the idea is to put away instruments and sit, lay down, or stand; whatever is more comfortable for you and relax and become centered with yourself and let the healing frequencies reverberate through you, while preparing yourself for the next session.
